New recordings & womex 2011

Klezmofobia1

Klezmofobia has just returned from recording in "Sing Sing Studio" in Netherlands, with the experienced producer Dragi Sestic.
KLEZMOFOBIA will be at the worlds biggest worldmusic event, WOMEX 2011 in Forum, Copenhagen. You can find us at stand 101 and 102. Stop by and we will inform you about our new album and other funny projects such as the world largest chain-dance and KlezmoCirkus.

Watch KLEZMOFOBIA live at two OFF WOMEX showcases at GLOBENHAGEN at Avenue Hotel (Åboulevarden 29), 27 oct 8.40 pm.

And a "KLEZMER-BATTLE" 28´oct, midnight at "BØRNETEATRET" at Christania.
 
The longest children chaindance in Denmark

What a great and fun experience. Thanks to the 1000 children, for making it a wonderfull day with klezmofobia

The event took place on Wednesday May 25. at a live concert at "Rådhuspladsen" in the heart of Copenhagen. 1000 pupils from 4. and 5. grade from schools in Copenhagen made the longest chain-dance (as far as we know!) ever in the name of solidarity.

 
 
Ganze Velt tour 2010-11

Klezmofobia nominated for Danish Music Award 2009

Two Years ago Klezmofobia won the prestigious grammy for 'Best world album 2006' - with 'Tanz!'.
An album wich now has sold more than 20.000 copies..
Klezmofobia has now been nominated for Danish World Award 2009 in two categories:
'Album of the Year' - Ganze Velt - 'World track of the Year: Zigoiner (from the album Ganze Velt).

Klezmofobia in national television, "Livvagterne" (bodyguards)

DRs new television series had a visit from Klezmofobia - in episode 4, which was sent Sunday 18th January. The section ended with a Jewish wedding where Klezmofobia supplied the music.

German / Austria Tour - New CD: Ganze Velt

In november Klezmofobia goes on tour: For the first time the audience in major citites in Germany and Austria can experience Klezmofobia live!

In November 2008 the new album “Ganze Welt” will be released.
Since the first album, scandinavian “Queen of Klezmer”, Channe Nussbaum, has been integrated in the band, and Klezmofobia continues the musical journey resulting in a unique and unheard sound.

From the 28th of november you can buy the new Klezmofobia-CD in TIGER-shops all over Denmark, Sweden, England and Iceland. Join the mailing list to get an invite to the release party!

The new and the new CD can also be bought in webshops in most of the world, Itunes and others.
 
Klezmofobia goes to Mexico!
In the beginning of May Klezmofobia will play three concerts on the Ollinkan festival in Mexico City. It will be free open air concerts, and the number of audience expected are 2000 on the smallest scene and some 20.000 on the largest – Centro of Tlalpan. Please refer to the calendar for specifik time and details.

We are currently planning several other presentations and meetings with musicians and people from the cultural and political scene.

Mexico has a rich musiclife: The famous mariachi´s and the Banda Sinaloense and many regional and indigenous musical traditions. We are looking forward to present our special version of klezmer to the mexican audience!

Before the mexican tour, the danish audience can hear the band on Odense Folkfestival in april.
 
Klezmofobia wins Danish World Music Award for Best album 2007

At the World Music Award Party in Copenhagen Jazzhouse, Thursday the 22. nov, Klezmofobias first release "Tantz!" was awarded with the prize "Best album of the year". Klezmofobia was selected by an independent jury among many other great bands from the danish world music scene!

“Tantz!” was produced by singer Channe Nussbaum, who also performs is featured on two songs on the album. The cooperation went so well, that Channe Nussbaum now is part of the group.
